Context of Interview: L.W. was interviewed at his house at approximately 5 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon. His mom, dad, and brother were present in the house during the interview. Before beginning the assessment, L.W. and I played catch outside for about twenty minutes. L.W. and I then completed the play assessment together in the kitchen while his parents watched television in the living room and his brother played video games in his bedroom. After interviewing and completing the assessment with L.W., he went to play in his bedroom so that I could interview his mother in the kitchen. 2. Family Issues: L.W.’s mother stated that there are no family issues that affect L.W.’s play. L.W.’s parents make it a priority to play with both of their children. Upon arriving to his house, L.W., his brother, and his father were playing catch outside. L.W.’s mother also said that they put aside time each weekend to spend time playing with their sons. L.W.’s cousins live nearby, so he is typically able to play with them at least once a week. A judgement can be made that his family life is stable. 3. School History and Health: Per L.W.’s mother, he has no health issues that affect his school life or play.
